Sustainability is a critical issue facing the built environment. The precast concrete industry realizes that it can be part of the solution to the greatest engineering challenge of our times. This short video highlights some of the work of the PCI Sustainability Committee on the topic of sustainability.
Sustainability and PCI
The PCI Board of Directors approved the formation of the PCI Sustainability Committee in October 2006 because it recognized the importance of charting a strategic course for the future of the industry.
Those in the precast/prestressed concrete industry realize they must continuously improve their products and processes and contribute to sustained life on our planet.
This new committee is poised to develop strategies to elevate the knowledge base of PCI members as well as lead the sustainable world with innovative and integrated products and processes. In a series of meetings and strategic planning sessions, the committee has begun defining precast concrete's potential role in a sustainable future.

The manual provides a summary of available documentation and information available from the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI).
The manual is divided into chapters that provide a comprehensive overview of all aspects of the building process in which
